Subsumption explores the tension between human agency and artificial intelligence absorption. This piece emerges from a live video feed capturing my physical interactions with a life-size sculptural installation called "Dummy
Dummy Installation, 2013," which serves as both collaborator and subject and “Dummy Tree
Dummy Tree, 2024”. The recorded movements become prompts fed into AI systems, generating real-time visual interpretations that blur boundaries between human intention and machine perception.
Part of a larger participatory installation, Subsumption invites viewers to witness—and participate in—the gradual dissolution of human autonomy within an AI-dominated landscape. Each interaction with the Dummy creates data points for algorithmic interpretation, forming a feedback loop where human gesture becomes machine language, then returns transformed.
